“Dukling” is an antique wooden junk with 50 years of history and full of meanings that witnessed the transformation of Hong Kong from a fishing port into a free port, and become the international metropolis. It is the only remaining three antique three-mast wooden sailing junk in Hong Kong, which fishermen preference to go fishing in Hong Kong 150 years ago. It represents the Hong Kong style shipbuilding . Dukling not only a classic Chinese sailing junk but also one of the top ten tourist attractions in Hong Kong as well as an antique sailing junk in the World.

Refurbished in 2015, a few historical pieces including its distinctive red sails, teak wood, alarm bell and a bronze medal with the words “DUKLING ICON OF HONG KONG” are kept in order to retain its original appearance. Dukling becomes a symbol of Hong Kong, it is also representing the sense of humane of the fishermen in the previous generation and their integrity in which a promise that must be kept. It inheritances the spirit of Hong Kong people and likewise, it reinforces everyone of us the faith to keep moving forward despite the ups and downs. It is hoped that the humaneness of Hong Kong people and the lion rock spirits can be evoked by Dukling.
