Indian tourists travelling to Malaysia can obtain e-visa, according to AP Air Travellers Association vice president O. Naresh Kumar.

The e-visa system was commissioned on April 15, 2016 at the web address http://www.windowmalaysia.my

The period taken to process e-visa is between 24 hours and 48 hours (weekdays). The processing fee is $25 (approximately Rs.1660) + Visa fee Rs.1000 + transaction fee of Rs.50 online. The total estimated cost is Rs.2,710 and payment is only via online.

The e-Visa holder is entitled to stay for a maximum of 30 days only for tourism purposes. It will be valid for a single journey and for use within three months from the date of issue. One can visit http://www.imi.gov.my or more details.

The issue of e-Visa to foreign nationals arriving at the Visakhapatnam Airport is being examined, Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said in a reply to Visakhapatnam MP and BJP State president K. Haribabu. Mr. Haribabu had earlier written to the Minister in this regard.
